Australian pace spearhead Mitchell Starc has called time on his T20 International career, deciding to devote his attention into the lengthier formats as he eyes fresh milestones in Tests and ODIs.
Selectors selected a team for the forthcoming New Zealand series on Tuesday without Starc.
Starc’s 79 wickets in 65 T20 Internationals rank him second on Australia’s all-time list, after Adam Zampa, highlighting his significance to the Australian lineup.
“Test cricket is and has always been my highest priority,” stated Starc.
“I have enjoyed every second of every Twenty20 match I have played for Australia, especially the 2021 World Cup, not only because we won but also because of the amazing team and the fun we had.”
