According to Balochistan Assembly secretary Tahir Shah Kakar, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) nominee Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has been nominated unopposed for the office of Balochistan Chief Minister because no other contender filed nomination papers by the deadline of Friday at 5 p.m.
However, the assembly will vote on the CM election tomorrow (Saturday), as Bugti still requires the backing of 33 members despite being nominated unopposed, Kakar said.
The Bilawal-led party proceeded to create a government in Balochistan.
Bugti, a former interim interior minister and provincial information minister, filed four nomination papers for Balochistan’s chief ministership with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office.
