According to a person close to Penny Mordaunt, she maintained her domain active from the 2022 contests “for the same reason you’d keep a spare tire in the boot”—that is, without attempting to challenge the prime minister.
As it is widely anticipated that Rishi Sunak will lose this Thursday’s election, there has been an increasing amount of conjecture over the future course of the Conservative Party and potential leaders.

While Steve Baker, the minister for Northern Ireland, has expressed his optimism publicly, other prominent Conservatives are holding their cards close to the vest.

It was discovered over the weekend that the domain kemi4leader.co.uk was registered.

On the conservative right, Ms. Badenoch, the business secretary, has long been regarded as the front-runner to replace Mr. Sunak.
The website domain, according to a person close to her, has “nothing to do with her,” News was informed.

Another one, backingbadenoch.co.uk, identifies itself as a grassroots social media movement and was last updated on June 27. According to the source, this is “totally independent” of the cabinet minister.

Meanwhile, kemiforprimeminister.com, the website that supported Ms. Badenoch’s 2022 bid for the position of leader, is no longer up.
