Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that Britain will not seek a visa accord with India since his goal is to strengthen commercial connections with the nation after this year’s trade agreement.
On Wednesday, Starmer embarks on a two-day journey to India with a business trade mission to promote the trade agreement, which was reached in May, signed in July, and is scheduled to take effect the following year.
When he meets with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, Starmer stated that visas had thwarted earlier attempts to finalize a trade agreement and that he didn’t want to bring up the subject again after reaching an agreement that had no bearing on visas.
