ISLAMABAD According to the National Polio Eradication Programme, a nationwide anti-polio campaign got underway on Monday (today) with the goal of vaccinating over 28 million children under five in 99 districts.
Participating in the drive are more than 240,000 polio workers from the federal capital, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.
Officials urged parents to make sure their children take polio drops during every round, pointing out that the risk of polio and other infections has increased in districts impacted by flooding. Health professionals emphasized that preventing illness outbreaks depends on youngsters finishing their vaccination courses on schedule.
