According to Punjab police, dacoits in the Ubaro district of Sindh killed a cab driver from Rawalpindi because they were not willing to pay a ransom.
On June 26, Arshad Mahmood, a taxi driver from Rawalpindi, arrived in Ubaro after viewing a Facebook post for a cheap automobile.
The cabbie texted his son a photo of himself arriving safely on WhatsApp. In order to buy the car and make a nighttime return to Rawalpindi, he instructed his son to get in touch with the car’s owners. After then, Arshad Mahmood didn’t hear from his family.
A spokesman for the Punjab police said that the families were called and requested to travel to Daharki town by the kidnappers, who were demanding a ransom of one crore rupees.
On June 27, the victim’s brother and other family members traveled to Ubaro and requested the Sindh Police’s aid. The brothers of the kidnapped cab driver were left without proper support from Ubaro police, even after two days had passed.
