Berlin: After hackers interfered with automated check-in systems, some of Europe’s largest airports, including the busiest in the region, London’s Heathrow, hurried to resume regular operations on Sunday.
On Saturday, hackers targeted RTX-owned Collins Aerospace, a provider of check-in and boarding systems, interfering with operations at Heathrow, Berlin Airport, and Brussels, causing delays, cancellations, and long lines for travelers.
Despite some ongoing delays, airport authorities and data reported that disruption had greatly decreased by early Sunday. Meanwhile, regulators said they were looking into the origin of the cyberattack.
