In the 1970s, the stones were initially installed at Saundersfoot, in West Wales’ southern county.
However, in the intervening period, the quantity of pebbles has drastically decreased, despite the ongoing rise in sea levels. Now, a public meeting has been scheduled to address the issues.
Pembrokeshire County Councillor Chris Williams, who represents Saundersfoot South, stated that beachgoers who collected stones did not “mean any harm.”
He told News that they don’t know what the repercussions are.
I just want to say, look, please be aware of the locals, the properties, and the businesses. If you see someone stealing pebbles, please let them know that they are there for a purpose.
I would suggest to everyone that if they have stones on [their] houses, or if you had in the past, they are more than welcome to remove them and return them to the beach. The locals will be very grateful, he continued.
