Following an agreement between the provincial administration and flour mill owners, Punjab’s flour supply has been restored.
The goal of the action is to stabilize prices and guarantee that there is an adequate supply of necessary flour on the market.
According to people with knowledge of the development, 800 grain mills in Punjab would reopen today. In order to alleviate shortages that impacted homes throughout the province, these mills would provide 10kg and 20kg flour bags at official pricing.
Officials from the Flour Mills Association affirmed that the government will support the mills by supplying 100,000 tons of wheat each month. Multinational corporations have also promised to provide 2.5 million bags of wheat at a price of Rs 3,000 per maund. To finalize the amount and distribution process, representatives of these companies are expected to meet with DG Food today.
