According to The News, India has totally blocked the flow of water from the Ravi River to Pakistan by completing the Shahpur Kandi barrage on the border of Punjab and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to media reports published by the Indian publication, the 1,150 cusecs of water originally granted to Pakistan will now be used in the IIOJK region, irrigating more than 32,000 hectares of land in Samba and Kathua districts.
The Shahpur Kandi barrage project, which is critical for irrigation and hydropower generation, has experienced several problems over the last 30 years. However, it is now almost finished.
