The low-cost carrier’s departures from UK airports were 31 minutes and 36 seconds behind schedule on average in 2023, the PA news agency found after analyzing data from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Last year, Turkish Airlines had the second-worst average delay of 28 minutes and 36 seconds, making it the second least punctual airline.
While acknowledging that there is “still work to be done,” Wizz Air stated that it has achieved “significant improvements.”
All scheduled and chartered departures from UK airports by airlines with over 2,500 flights were included in the analysis. There were no flights that were canceled.
The following airlines had the worst delays:
• 28 minutes and 24 seconds for Tui
• 28 minutes and 12 seconds for Air India
• Pegasus Airlines, a low-cost Turkish airline, in 25 minutes and 6 seconds
• 23 minutes and 48 seconds for Air Portugal
• Traveling takes 23 minutes and 6 seconds.
• Switzerland: 22:48 seconds
• BA – 21 minutes 36 seconds; Air Canada – 22 minutes 6 seconds.
Which consumer group? claimed that travelers on airlines are paying record air rates for “unreliable services,” putting them in the “outrageous position.”
With an average delay of barely 13 minutes and six seconds, Irish airline Emerald Airlines had the greatest performance in 2018. Virgin Atlantic came in second with an average delay of 13 minutes and 42 seconds.
