ISLAMABAD: According to The News on Friday, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa stated that Forms 45 pertaining to elections are meaningless and have no bearing on votes after poll boxes are opened.
During the hearing of a petition on Thursday regarding the recounting of votes in Balochistan Assembly constituency PB-14, Naseerabad, filed by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Ghulam Rasool, the top judge stated that the election is decided by the votes and that “Form 45 or 75” has no bearing on that decision.
Judge Isa’s comments coincide with accusations of opposition parties manipulating the results of the polls on February 8 and interfering with the process. The Pakistan Tehkree-e-Insaf (PTI) has referred to the current ruling alliance as a “Form 47” government.
