Following what activists claim was a drone attack, a Portuguese-flagged boat in a flotilla delivering relief to Palestinians in Gaza caught fire on Tuesday. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) said the event happened off the coast of North Africa.
In an attempt to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza, the aid convoy was carrying around 350 charity workers and human rights advocates, including Swedish climate campaigner Greta Thunberg.
The steering committee members were on board The Family Boat, the group’s flagship ship, when it was struck, but all six crew members were unhurt.
