The UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman are the six member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which has announced a historic decision to implement a single tourist visa.
The project is currently nearing completion and will be launched on a trial basis by the end of 2025 before being completely implemented, according to GCC Secretary-General Jassim Al-Budaiwi. Applications will eventually be handled by a specialized digital portal.
By removing the need to apply for individual visas for each country, the Schengen-style visa, which is anticipated to last between 30 and 90 days, will make travel easier for both Gulf citizens and foreigners.
