Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan announced on Thursday that Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has ordered party members to quit from all standing committees of the Punjab Assembly immediately.
After seeing Khan, Barrister Gohar and Senator Ali Zafar spoke to media outside Adiala Jail. They acknowledged that PTI presently controls 14 standing committees in Punjab and that the party founder gave the resignation order.
Along with boycotting the next by-elections, the previous ruling party’s political strategy includes this action. On Khan’s orders, PTI legislators resigned from the Senate and National Assembly standing committees last month.
