Late on Friday night, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Hajj aircraft PK 839 made an emergency landing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to airline sources that News reported.
On Saturday, however, following the inspection, the aircraft departed for Jeddah.
At ten o’clock on Saturday night, the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi saw the departure of the Hajj flight for Jeddah. However, it was redirected to Riyadh due to an urgent landing.
A passenger had claimed to have heard an explosion while on the airplane, according to Geo News. The jet was redirected to Riyadh and made a landing there as soon as the unexpected sound was reported.
After the emergency landing, the Boeing 777’s occupants were removed and relocated to the airport lounge in Riyadh.
According to a PIA representative, the pilot was advised to land in the Saudi capital following a high temperature alert in the cargo cabin.
Nevertheless, an examination revealed that the alert was unfounded, and after a brief verification, the aircraft took off for Jeddah.
