An Indian expatriate has hit the Dh25-million ($6.75 million) jackpot in Abu Dhabi’s popular Big Ticket raffle, adding to the growing list of major wins by Indians in the UAE.
Saravanan Venkatachalam, a 44-year-old electrical engineer, was stunned to discover he had won the 280th draw of the Big Ticket. Venkatachalam, who has been living in Abu Dhabi for several years, started participating in the raffle five years ago, inspired by a colleague who had previously won.
