Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT): In response to calls for protest from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), police and law enforcement blocked several routes in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, including the expressway from Faizabad to Murree Road. This resulted in major traffic disruptions.

SHOs of Sadiqabad and New Town sent large contingents of police officers to the Faisalabad.

The portion of the road that leads to the expressway that is closed to traffic is still open. Half of the space beneath the Faizabad bridge on the expressway has been blocked off by containers.

In related news, the Islamabad police and administration have mobilized in response to Jamaat-e-Islami’s announcement of a sit-in at D-Chowk.Many of the routes, notably D-Chowk, that go to the Red Zone were blocked off with containers late last night.

The Islamabad Police, according to sources, have started putting containers on the federal capital’s outside and internal arteries. To lessen the hiccups, the Islamabad Traffic Police have responded by releasing a different traffic strategy.

In the event that Rawat Cross is closed, residents are advised to take the Korawalpindi Sadar route.

If Peshawar GT Road is closed, take the freeway instead.

If the G14 Srinagar Highway is closed, people should use Colonel Sher Khan Road, GT Road, and Peshawar Road. Use Shahri Park Road in the event that Faizabad is closed, and Faisal Avenue and Jinnah for zero point closure.
