In response to Israel’s attack on Qatar, the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ordered the GCC Joint security Council to hold an emergency meeting in Doha, followed by a military committee session, to evaluate the existing security posture and potential threats.
Additionally, the council instructed that the appropriate actions be taken to initiate cooperative defense and deterrent systems.
Gulf leaders and GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi convened the special summit on Monday, which was presided over by Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to address the assault on residential buildings that house Hamas political leaders taking part in mediation negotiations led by Qatar.
