Jarrett Allen made no excuses for his team’s (Cavs) performance on Thursday, admitting that it was “unacceptable”.
Magic capitalized on the Cavs’ off-court performance, as Allen’s team was sloppy on both offense and defense, according to Sports Illustrated.
“It’s on us,” Allen stated following the contest.
“We had 17 turnovers, which is unacceptable given what we’re trying to accomplish. Only mental errors. It was a lot of simply chucking the ball out of bounds. I know I had a few instances where I simply lost the ball because it slipped. “We were all making mistakes.”
The Cavaliers had 18 turnovers in their game against the Magic. Orlando capitalized on these errors, transforming them into 28 points that eventually contributed to their victory. As JA pointed out, many of these turnovers were atypical mistakes that the Cavs seldom make.
Allen claimed that the opposing team sped up the game and became rough with the Cavs, making them uncomfortable, which could explain why the Cavaliers committed mistakes.
Having said that, Allen remarked that the loss to the Magic served as a tremendous learning experience, helping them progress in the remaining 28 games leading up to the playoffs.
