Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, head of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), emphasized the need of preserving democracy in Pakistan on Thursday.
Siddiqui stated, “The democracy cannot be strengthened unless the participation of the masses in the process is ensured.”
He emphasized the supremacy of the constitution, saying, “Everybody needs to follow the country’s constitution.”
“We would not let the leader derail the democracy for the election of the speaker and deputy speaker tomorrow,” he went on to say.
