LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was instructed by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday to petition the city’s deputy commissioner (DC) for permission to organize the protest in the provincial capital. The DC was also given an ultimatum to make a decision by 5 p.m. today.
The orders were given at a hearing on a request for authorization to host a PTI rally at the Minar-e-Pakistan monument in Lahore.
PTI leaders Aliya Hamza and Sheikh Imtiaz Mehmood submitted a plea, which was heard by Justices Muhammad Tariq Nadeem and Farooq Haider.
Earlier this week, the petitioners filed a motion with the court claiming that the party had been repeatedly refused permission to hold political rallies in Lahore.
