Delilah Hamlin, daughter of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna, has opened up about the long-standing health issues that deeply affected her physical and emotional well-being. For years, the 27-year-old model struggled with unexplained symptoms that doctors failed to properly diagnose.
What Delilah once believed to be a medical mystery is now clearer. She recently revealed that she was suffering from endometriosis, a chronic condition that went undetected for most of her life. The delayed diagnosis caused severe complications, including seizures that intensified around her menstrual cycle.
Speaking on a recent episode of the She MD podcast, Hamlin shared that she experienced extremely painful periods from a young age. Despite visiting multiple gynecologists, none identified endometriosis as the cause of her symptoms.
“I had really painful periods and saw so many doctors,” she explained. “No one ever mentioned endometriosis.”
Instead, physicians focused on other possible conditions. Due to the intensity of her cramps and emotional distress, she was diagnosed with PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder). Hamlin said she also considered PCOS after hearing doctors discuss it, but the real issue remained overlooked.
Her seizures became more frequent during or just before her menstrual cycle. She described the frightening episodes as moments when her body would overheat, followed by convulsions. These symptoms took a serious toll on her daily life and mental health.
Ironically, Hamlin first learned about endometriosis years earlier through a social media post by singer Halsey. At the time, she didn’t realize the condition could explain her own struggles.
Eventually, after advocating for herself and conducting extensive research, Hamlin underwent surgery. Doctors discovered and removed endometrial implants, which finally brought relief. Since the procedure, her seizures have stopped, and her overall health has significantly improved.
“It feels empowering to know this is something that can be treated,” she said. “I’m grateful, but you really have to educate yourself and speak up.”
In addition to her physical health journey, Hamlin also acknowledged past battles with anxiety, depression, substance dependence, and an accidental overdose. She clarified that these were personal experiences rather than formal medical diagnoses, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness.
Her story highlights the challenges many women face when gynecological conditions go undiagnosed and underscores the importance of self-advocacy in healthcare.
