Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), who was chosen by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to spearhead the negotiations, indicated that he would be open to speaking with Asif Ali Zardari, the co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and President Nawaz Sharif of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Achakzai was chosen earlier this week by the former ruling party to spearhead the talks through the Tehreek-e-Tahafuz Ayeen (TTAP) platform of the opposition alliance.
Speaking on Thursday’s “Capital Talk” segment on News, Achakzai stated, “Pakistan needs a strong army,” emphasizing that his movement is not anti-military.
“We have raised the banner for the supremacy of democracy and the Constitution.”
Achakzai issued a warning: “Nawaz Sharif and Zardari will eventually run out of time if they do not join us.”
