The Iraqi Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this purpose. The matter came up at a meeting between Iraqi Ambassador Hamid Abbas Lafta and Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain, who oversees Pakistanis living abroad and human resource development. Mohsin Naqvi, the interior minister, attended the meeting as well.
“Pakistani nationals will find it simpler to get work permits in Iraq according to the MoU. Additionally, it will decrease unauthorized infiltration into Iraq and raise legitimate immigration, according to Mr. Salik.
In addition, the interior minister gave the Iraqi ambassador his word that he would work with them to find a solution to the problem of Pakistani nationals living in Iraq illegally.
