A major boost to the nation’s energy sector was provided Thursday when Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) announced the discovery of additional oil and gas reserves in Punjab’s Attock area.
The Dhok Sultan-3 well is where the discovery was found, according to an official release.
Initial estimates imply that the site can generate roughly 1,469 barrels of crude oil per day, combined with 2.56 million standard cubic feet of gas (MMSCFD).
The move is being heralded as a sign that indigenous energy resources will be strengthened, which might lessen reliance on expensive imports and improve national energy security.
