Since the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) revealed a series of significant safety and maintenance issues over the previous eight months, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been under close examination.
Citing inadequate planning and management, the Additional Director of Airworthiness pointed out serious shortcomings in base maintenance in a letter to PIA and the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).
The chief engineer for base maintenance’s performance was questioned in the report, which indicated that duties were not being carried out effectively.
The CAA claims that unapproved modifications were made to the landing gear actuators of an A320 aircraft, and that a Level-One infraction was noted in the cabin furnishing shop.
