The successful conclusion of the government-Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) negotiations was hailed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday, who described the return to normalcy and the restoration of peace as a positive development.
The government’s negotiation committee and JAAC reached a settlement after carefully reviewing the draft accord, ending days of tension that had caused violent rioting in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The government’s negotiation committee’s efforts were commended by the premier, who also commended its members for their commitment and diligence in trying to resolve the conflict through conversation.
