PML-N Secretary Information Marriyum Aurangzeb announced on Sunday that PML-N supremo Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the MQM leadership have achieved an in-principle agreement.

“They vowed to work together for the interest of the country and the nation,” Marriyum said in a statement.

The MQM-P delegation led by Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui paid a visit to Nawaz’s residence in Jati Umra, Lahore, at the request of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif.

Nawaz led a PML-N team that comprised Shehbaz, Maryam Nawaz, Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, Ayaz Sadiq, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Rana Mashhood.

While the MQM-P delegation comprised Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Dr Farooq Sattar, and Mustafa Kamal, the PML-N spokesperson shared a video of the meeting on her X account.

The consultation between the heads of both parties took roughly an hour. They discussed the developing political scenario and shared ideas.

Marriyum stated that the political leaders confided in each other about the broader political scenario and the relationships made thus far.

Earlier, when the MQM-P team arrived in Raiwand, Nawaz and Shehbaz, together with other party colleagues, welcomed them.

Shehbaz Sharif, on the other hand, informed his party leaders that former President Asif Zardari has demanded the position of Prime Minister for Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, as well as significant cabinet positions, according to The News.

In a remarkable breakthrough, the PPP has agreed to form a coalition government with the PML-N on the condition that Bilawal be appointed Prime Minister.

Shehbaz informed the party leaders that Zardari had promised the PPP’s backing in exchange for the PML-N forming a government in Punjab.According to PML-N sources, former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with former President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal on Friday night to discuss their future coalition. According to party sources, PML-N leaders reviewed various alternatives for forming the future administration at both the federal and provincial levels on Saturday.
