Woman Dies After Riding Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Orlando
A 70-year-old woman died in November after riding the Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster at Universal Studios in Orlando, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services reported. Universal Orlando has been contacted for comment.
About the Ride
Revenge of the Mummy is an indoor roller coaster that combines speed, sudden drops, and jump scares. Riders sit in conjoined carts that whisk them along a dimly lit track. The ride reaches speeds of up to 45 mph.
Universal’s safety guide warns that the ride involves “sudden and dramatic acceleration, climbing, tilting, and dropping.” It is not recommended for riders with heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, back or neck issues, motion sickness, or sensitivity to strobe or fog effects.
Previous Incidents
This is the second death linked to Universal rides in 2025. In September, a 32-year-old man died after riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster. His cause of death was listed as “multiple blunt impact injuries.”
In August, a 32-year-old woman was injured on Revenge of the Mummy, experiencing neck pain and motion sickness.
