As water levels in Indian dams continue to rise, the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning about the impending flood hazard in the Sutlej River.
Water inflows at India’s Pong Dam (Beas) have hit 132,595 cusecs, while outflows have reached 100,000 cusecs, according to the most recent PDMA update.
The dam is gradually rising to its current level of 1,394.51 feet.
With 95,400 cubic feet of inflows and 73,459 cubic feet of outflows, the water level at Bhakra Dam has risen to 1,679 feet, nearly reaching its maximum capacity.
