President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that the war would be prolonged after Russia launched its largest-ever aircraft bombardment against Ukraine early Sunday, killing four people and burning down the Ukrainian government’s seat in Kyiv.
The attack on Sunday was the first to target Ukraine’s cabinet of ministers, a large government building located in the center of Kyiv.
An AFP correspondent observed smoke rising above the capital and the building’s roof on fire.
According to emergency services, multiple high-rise buildings in Kyiv were also damaged by drone strikes.
