Ayub’s prowess with the ball has propelled him to the top spot despite a recent decline in his batting form.
India’s Hardik Pandya, who fell to second place, was surpassed by the 22-year-old opening batsman. With 231 rating points, Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan held onto third place.
Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf, two more Pakistani players, both rose four spots to 13th place with 166 points, while Ashraf also rose four spaces to 35th place with 100 points.
Shaheen Afridi, an all-round pace bowler, advanced a considerable 15 spots to 56th place.
