An official statement addressing the event has been made by the Saudi Arabian airlines, whose airplane caught fire at the Peshawar airport on Thursday during landing.
The airline claims that while landing, a fire started in one of the aircraft’s tires.
The event happened on a Saudi Arabian airline flight that was arriving from Riyadh. The plane was immediately grounded as a safety precaution once the fire was discovered. The Saudi airlines attested that as soon as the aircraft came to an end, the appropriate authorities were notified.
The emergency slides were promptly used to ensure that every passenger was safely evacuated. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries among the crew or passengers.
For technical reasons, the airplane is still parked at Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar.
Prior to being authorized for return, the aircraft will go through a comprehensive inspection, as promised by Saudia Airlines.
