The Supreme Court clarified that such arrangements do not fall under the Presidential Order by withdrawing its previous notification that extended security protocols to retiring judges’ widows.
Nonetheless, security for life will still be granted to retired judges.
Explanation of security procedures
The Supreme Court affirmed in its second explanatory statement that the current Presidential Order does not grant widows of retired judges security.
While reiterating that retired judges themselves will continue to enjoy lifetime protection, the court stated that the notification of security arrangements is only being withdrawn to the degree of widows.
