Shehbaz and King Hamad Pledge Stronger Economic and Defence Ties During Bahrain Visit

defensePrime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa have committed to enhancing cooperation in economic and defence sectors during Shehbaz’s two-day official visit to Bahrain.

The leaders assessed the robust bilateral relationship and reaffirmed their dedication to deepening ties based on shared faith and mutual respect. In recognition of his contributions, King Hamad awarded Prime Minister Shehbaz the prestigious Order of Bahrain, recalling Bahrain’s historical connection with Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as its legal representative.

defense,Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude for the warm reception and the honor, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening political, economic, defence, and cultural collaboration. He highlighted Pakistan’s readiness to boost trade under the GCC Free Trade Agreement and invited Bahraini investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan.

The prime minister also acknowledged Bahrain’s support in establishing King Hamad University in Islamabad and praised the kingdom’s hospitality toward over 150,000 Pakistani residents. He thanked King Hamad for facilitating the repatriation of Pakistani prisoners.
