KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General (IG) Ghulam Nabi Memon declared on Friday that a new electronic challan system for traffic infractions will be implemented in Karachi on October 27.
According to him, traffic challans have been temporarily halted till the new system is implemented. He also mentioned that no new contract has been signed since the former company’s deal to supply challan equipment expired.
Once the new system is up and running, the Sindh police chief also announced that a committee has been established to handle public concerns about e-challans.
To acquaint stakeholders with the impending system, the Sindh Police Department hosted an awareness session earlier this month with the title “Traffic Rules and Faceless E-Ticketing Challan.”
