Southport Dads Bond Through Marathon Tribute
Two dads from Southport have become friends after losing their young daughters in a tragic attack. Now they are getting ready to run the London Marathon. They are turning their sadness into strength and purpose.
Their daughters Alice Da Silva Aguiar, nine and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven were among three kids who died in a dance workshop incident in July 2024. The tragedy changed their lives forever.
From Loss to Friendship
year both dads ran the marathon separately. They ran to remember their daughters. This year they have decided to run.
They say their bond has grown stronger over time. What started as shared sadness has turned into a friendship. Running together now feels more meaningful. It gives them both strength.
Running Helps Them Heal
It helps them deal with their emotions. On days a run helps clear their minds and ease the pain. After a run he feels calmer. This simple routine has made a difference in how he deals with loss.
Honouring Their Daughters
Their marathon efforts have a purpose. One dad raised funds to build a playground at his daughters school. The other supported a charity created in his daughters name.
Now as they prepare to run their goal is the same. They want to keep their daughters memories alive. They want to make an impact in their honour.
A Shared Journey
