He claimed that his partner was unknown. Clinton denied any connection between the photo and sexual activity. Clinton said the image had nothing to do with sexual acts. Maxwell's Denial and Comments Clinton stated that he had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities and their relationship was brief. Clinton offered his sympathies to the victims and expressed hope that an investigation would prevent further abuse. Maxiwell was given a 20-year sentence for her role in Epstein's crimes. Clinton did not comment on whether Trump should grant her clemency. She called his actions horrible and she said that they should be punished. Documents released by the Justice Department do not show direct communication between Epstein, Clinton or their ex-aide. Records indicate that Maxwell had contact with Clinton's former aide during the early 2000s.
