In an effort to modernize commuting by cutting down on travel time, the federal government has chosen to build a high-speed rail project between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi presided over a high-level meeting on Monday where the decision was made.
Talal Chaudhry, the Minister of State for Interior Affairs, the Federal Interior Secretary, the Secretary of Railways, the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the Commissioner of Rawalpindi, the Inspector General of the Islamabad Police, and representatives of the Frontier Corps attended the meeting.
When the project is finished, thousands of citizens will have access to first-rate travel amenities, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said, attributing the initiative to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s dedication to offering public relief and contemporary transportation solutions.
