The White House is calling the squatting trend, in which strangers grab and dwell on a homeowner’s property against their wishes, a “local issue” with which local governments must deal themselves.
As horror stories continue to make headlines, News contributor Peter Doocy questioned White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday about whether or not Americans should be concerned about squatters and where President Biden stands on the matter.
Jean-Pierre stated, “I understand that this is obviously a local issue.” “We are monitoring the matter, for sure. The rights of property owners and renters must be maintained.”
The press secretary continued, “And we believe that ultimately what needs to happen is that the local government needs to make sure that they address this and take action.”
The White House claims that countries need to deal with squatting as a “local issue.”
