Toyota will recall 161,268 vehicles in the United States after regulators flagged a rear view camera display problem. The issue affects the camera image when drivers shift the vehicle into reverse.
What Went Wrong
Toyota found a fault linked to the rear view camera display. When the vehicle goes into reverse, the screen may not show the camera view correctly.
That can reduce visibility while backing up.
NHTSA Confirms the Recall
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the recall on Saturday. The agency confirmed the recall covers 161,268 vehicles.
What Owners Should Do Now
Toyota will contact affected owners with recall instructions. Drivers can also check their recall status using their VIN number.
Toyota dealers will provide the repair.
