According to a spokesman for the bureau on Saturday night, two suspected terrorists from the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed by friendly fire after they attacked the counterterrorism department (CTD) in Rawalpindi.

The TTP members who were killed were named as Naseebullah and Ehsanullah, a spokeswoman for the CTD said.

The spokesman went on to say that one personnel was killed in the attack on Dolphin Force in Rawalpindi, which was carried out by both terrorists.

The official also stated that hand grenades and explosives were found among the militants who had been killed.

According to The News, during operations in several parts of Punjab last month, the CTD detained 22 suspected terrorists connected to several terrorist organizations that are outlawed.

In order to adequately address any adverse occurrence of terrorism, the CTD Punjab carried out 232 intelligence-based operations in various districts of the province. During these operations, 233 people were interrogated and 22 alleged terrorists were apprehended in possession of weapons, explosives, and prohibited materials.

The CTD spokesperson reportedly stated in the publication that intelligence-based operations in Chakwal, Mianwali, Khanewal, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Bahawalnagar, Attock, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Mianwali, and Jhang resulted in the arrest of these alleged terrorists.
