On Thursday, the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) halted flights to and from Dubai and Sharjah due to the ongoing heavy rains in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The national flag carrier said in a statement that adverse weather had a significant impact on flight operations for Dubai and Sharjah.
The statement also stated that “all airlines’ flight operations, including PIA’s, will remain suspended until further orders.”
Due to “unstable” weather, the UAE government has issued an orange alert.
According to Khaleej Times, the Gulf country has been getting ready for the most recent wave of unpredictable weather for the previous several days. It is expected to peak today, May 2, and last till tomorrow, May 3.
