A four-year ban from all major athletic events was imposed by Wada on Russia in 2019 due to a state-sponsored doping scandal.
Later, that was shortened to two years, but due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the nation is still prohibited.
Many Russians are scheduled to participate in Paris 2024 as neutral athletes.
“What I can tell you is that they all remain subject to testing,” Banka replied.
Although it has long denied having an institutionalized doping program, Russia has admitted to some inadequacies in the way its anti-doping laws are being applied.
During the Wada annual symposium in Lausanne, Banka stated that Rusada, the anti-doping agency of Russia, was carrying out all the required testing.
Wada remains’very suspicious’ about Russia’s anti-doping measures in Paris 2024.
According to Witold Banka, president of Wada, the organization is still "deeply sceptical" of Russia's anti-doping initiatives.
