At a meeting in Beijing, President Asif Ali Zardari spoke with Chinese Premier Li Qiang about strengthening bilateral cooperation and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The President’s Secretariat said in a press release Thursday that the two met at the Great Hall of the People.
In order to further promote shared growth and prosperity, the two sides talked about high-quality development under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0, with an emphasis on strengthening cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, science and technology, infrastructure, and agriculture.
They also talked about how business-to-business and private sector connections could improve trade and economic cooperation.
President Zardari emphasized the long-standing and deeply ingrained “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” between China and Pakistan, which has been fostered by both nations’ leaders over the years.
