About 10,000 Pakistanis are presently stranded in the forests of Cambodia and Burma, according to a sobering briefing on human trafficking provided to the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Human Rights on Tuesday.
It has been stated that these victims of organized human trafficking networks are being coerced into engaging in drug trafficking, illicit forestry, and agricultural labor.
The assistant secretary of the Interior Ministry informed the committee session, which was chaired by Sahibzada Hamid Raza, that Pakistani missions in Kuala Lumpur had provided this information. At the next meeting, the committee has now called for a thorough report from the Ministry of Interior as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
