Companies that offer satellite internet services will no longer need to get multiple Local Loop (LL) licenses, according to a significant regulatory change announced by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
A single license will be adequate for satellite internet operations nationwide under the new structure, according to information that appeared on Friday. According to the sources, the action is in line with the 2015 Telecom Policy and is anticipated to expedite the regulatory procedure.
Businesses like Starlink can choose to replace fourteen separate Long Distance and International (LDI) licenses with a single national authorization under the updated licensing model. The new license will only be granted to satellite internet companies that are registered with the Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board (PSARB).
