In New Delhi on Monday, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi. He emphasized that the two countries’ relations could only improve if there was peace along their shared border.
Wang arrived in the Indian capital Monday for a two-day visit that would include meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the 24th round of border discussions with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.
“This (discussing border issues) is very important because the basis for any positive momentum in our ties is the ability to jointly maintain peace and tranquility in the border areas,” Jaishankar said when he began.
