ISLAMABAD—Pakistan’s blue economy is the country’s “new economic frontier,” according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who called for a concerted national effort to realize its enormous potential.
The prime minister outlined the plan to make Pakistan a maritime powerhouse in the region during the soft opening of the 2nd Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference (PIMEC 2025).
“It is a great pleasure to see the Pakistan Navy, in partnership with important partners and under the patronage of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, organizing the second edition of PIMEC,” the prime minister remarked.
He praised the strategic vision and commitment of Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry and Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf in leading this significant endeavor.
